Robert Gignac is the owner of Rich is a State of Mind, focusing on personal and financial development. A sought after speaker at seminars across North America, Robert writes articles on personal and financial development issues.
His is also the author of the Canadian best-seller “Rich is a State of Mind” a novel which examines personal finance as seen through the eyes of a Canadian family. Robert has been a student of the financial planning process for over 20 years and his personal mission is to encourage Canadians to take control of their personal finances in order to have a “Richly Imagined Future”. Robert has shared this message with over 15,000 financial advisors (and their clients...hint, hint) across North America from large industry conferences to smaller client receptions and events.

Mark Yamada is President and CEO of PŮR Investing Inc. (PŮR). PŮR combines software development with portfolio management delivering innovative solutions to defined contribution pension plans and disruptive strategies to investment advisors and their clients. PŮR provides independent exchange-traded fund (ETF) analysis, risk-based portfolio construction and web-based tools including a multi-factor ETF screener and volatility drag calculator for use with leveraged ETFs. Mark lectures and writes about risk, volatility and portfolio construction in the U.S. and Canada and is a frequent speaker about the use of ETFs. After a successful tennis career Jennifer joined Janet in the financial industry in 2003. Jennifer quickly discovered how much she enjoys working with people and helping them to achieve their goals. Leveraging the discipline and work ethic developed during her tennis career, Jennifer has been instrumental in creating the

As a Certified Financial Planner and Canadian Investment Manager, Jennifer has an inherent ability to understand clients’ needs, help them clarify their goals and develop portfolios to help them reach those goals quickly and efficiently. Pat Bolland, Media Consultant
Longtime business commentator Pat Bolland has been a business thought leader north and south of the border, from the investment frontline right up to business opinion media. Pat worked his way up in the investment industry from floor clerk on the Toronto Stock Exchange to VP with a top tier firm before moving into broadcasting. Pat’s been business editor at four major networks, currently Sun New Network on ‘AM Agenda’ and has parlayed his TV hosting skills into media training and corporate PR as well as hosting, moderating and webcasting for events and conferences, not to mention a lot of lacrosse coaching. Matt Brundage, Vice President, Marketing, Bridgehouse Asset Managers
Matt is responsible for marketing and product management for Bridgehouse Asset Managers, trade name for Brandes Investment Partners & Co. in Toronto. In addition, he is responsible for developing and servicing institutional and head office relationships. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in sales and strategic initiatives at one of Canada's largest investment managers. Matt earned his BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Toronto CFA Society. He has over 10 years of experience in the industry.

 
 

Michael Cann, Director, Wealth Management & Portfolio Manager, Wronski Cann Group, Richardson GMP Ltd.
A graduate of McGill University, BA (Economics) in 1991, Michael began his career in the accounting profession. In 1993, a move to a large US based mutual fund company’s corporate finance department provided a window for Michael into the investment business. He joined the investment industry in 1994 as an Investment Advisor. The accounting experience has provided valuable understanding for evaluating companies’ financial reports and explaining tax and personal finance with clients.
Identifying successful investment ideas and strategies is a critical component of Michael’s daily activities. However, it is through detailed planning and a deep understanding of our clients’ long-term needs and risks that Michael contributes additional value to our client relationships.
Michael is an active member of Spring Lakes Golf Club. He and his wife, Linda, keep busy with their beautiful daughters, Madeline and Annika. He is also an alumnus of Trinity College School (1987).

Bev Evans is a Director, Wealth Management and an Investment Advisor at Richardson GMP. She and her team use a life planning approach to advise their clients and specialize in helping them navigate life transitions. Prior to joining Richardson GMP in 2008, Bev had established her practice at a bank-owned firm, where she received numerous awards and recognition for her client-centric and holistic approach to wealth management, particularly as it relates to the unique planning needs of women and widows. Bev recently led a collaboration
of six authors to write “What Next? Navigating Later Life Transitions,” which is designed as a practical guide to help Seniors and their families understand their options and to make informed decisions with confidence. This book helps gently de-mystify some of the myths and misconceptions commonly held by Seniors, and acts as a great conversation starter where families are finding it difficult to have ‘The Talk.’ Bev was also involved with the book “When Life Changes,” which helps widows get back on their feet after a loss. With over twenty-five years of experience and numerous designations, Bev has been able to incorporate her technical skills with her passion for people to develop especially close relationships with her clients and network.

 
 

Arthur I Fish, Partner, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP
Arthur Fish is a partner in the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and the Manager of the Toronto Regional Wealth Management Practice. Arthur was called to the Ontario Bar in 1985. He received his Doctorate from the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto in 1993. He received the B.C.L. from Oxford University, Wadham College in 1986, and his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1983.

Karen Henderson, Founder, CEO, Long Term Care Planning Network
As the result of a life changing 14 - year long term dementia care experience, Karen founded the Long Term Care Planning Network, Canada’s leading resource centre for aging and long term care planning and education. Her seminar series, web sites, newsletter and print and electronic tools are recognized as key international long term care educational resources.

Dennis Mitchell joined Sentry in 2005 and has more than 15 years of experience in the financial industry. In addition to overseeing Sentry’s award-winning investment management team, Dennis is the lead manager of Sentry Global Growth and Income Fund/Class and co-manager of Sentry Global Balanced Income Fund.
Since becoming CIO in February 2012, Dennis has been recognized with back-to-back Brendan Wood International Canadian TopGun Team Leader Awards (2012 and 2013). He is also a three-time winner of a Brendan Wood International Canadian TopGun Award (2009, 2010 and 2011), given by the sell-side analyst community to those with the best grasp of the industries in which they invest and the most influence in the Canadian market. Christopher Philips, CFA, is a senior analyst in The Vanguard Group, Inc.’s Investment Strategy Group. In this role, Mr. Philips has published and presented research on topics including international investing, indexing and benchmark selection. Mr. Philips joined The Vanguard Group, Inc. in 2000 and has worked in the Investment Strategy Group since its inception in 2001. He earned a BA from Franklin & Marshall College and is a CFA® charterholder.

 
 

Jeffrey Shaul, , President & CEO, Robson Capital
Jeffrey Shaul is a seasoned investment industry professional with over 27 years of experience in asset management, investment banking, mergers and acquisitions and private equity. He founded Robson Capital Management Inc. in 2003 with the objective of creating unique investment vehicles for Canadian investors, having conceived ideas for hedge fund strategies not previously available in Canada. He identified the best US-based managers to implement these unique strategies and partnered with them, launching in 2006 the Robson Van Eck Hard Assets Fund and the Robson Everest Global Fund.
With predecessor firms, Jeffrey was an integral member of teams that introduced breakthrough investment concepts, from the largest labour sponsored funds, the first private equity fund of funds in Canada (for Canada Pension Plan Investment Board), and a fixed income fund using a novel tax advantaged structure, among others. He also had senior investment banking and financial advisory roles on some of the largest mergers and acquisition transactions in Canada, including the merger of Air Canada and Canadian Airlines and the takeover of Genstar Corporation by Imasco Limited.
Jeffrey practiced law in the general corporate practice group at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt in Toronto, prior to his career in investment banking and asset management with major Canadian investment firms including Scotia Capital and TD Securities. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the CFA Institute and Toronto CFA Society and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute. Jeffrey was a member of the Sales Practices Committee of AIMA Canada from November 2006 to May 2009, and has appeared on BNN (Business News Network) as a commentator on the hedge fund industry.

 
 

Corina S. Weigl, Partner, Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP
Corina Weigl is a partner with Fasken Martineau. She focuses her practice on estate and family business succession planning, including wills and trusts, corporate re-organizations, marriage contracts, estate administration, charities and not-for-profit law.
